Timber posts and shaping to order
You will find we offer a wide range of timber posts, ideal for many applications including fence posts and gate posts. A shaped top post, such as a round top or four way weather top, as well as looking good can help prevent damage to the post from the weather.
We pride ourselves on the high quality and quantity of stock that we hold at the timber yard. This means our popular sized and shaped timber, such as the sawn and treated softwood 200mm x 200mm 2.4m post with flat top, rounded top or four way weather are available for immediate collection.
If we don’t hold your requirement in stock, you won’t be kept waiting long. All our timber posts can be shaped to order in our onsite workshop, where we provide specialist machining capabilities and skilled workmanship.
We stock:
1) sawn and treated softwood
This timber is cut with a circular saw or bandsaw and the edges and sides are not smooth. Our softwood is pressure treated for longevity and is protected against fungal and insect infections.
Posts with a flat top, rounded top and four way weather are kept in stock in popular sizes and are available immediately.

2) planed and treated softwood
Our planed and treated softwood has been planed all round to give a smooth even finish with round (eased) edges, making this type of timber is ideal for fencing and play areas. We list all sizes before planing and easing which makes the post slightly smaller, for example Ex 100mm x 100mm post has an actual finish of 95mm x 95mm.

3) oak
Our oak is fresh cut, green, structural grade oak with a sawn finish. We keep sawn posts with a flat top in stock, with all shaping and planing to order. For more information on our green oak view the product page>>
Shaping to order
You can choose from posts with a round top, 2 way weather, 4 way weather or a more bespoke design.
Our bishop hat top design is very distinctive and crafted by hand.
