A Gate with a Story โ 200 Years in the Making!
This oak pedestrian gate is around 200 years old and once stood outside a church on the Isle of Wight. Back in the day, a young manโs job was to open this very gate for women arriving at church by horse and cart โ earning a few coins for his trouble.
The gateโs owner, a lover of history, had it carefully stored for years has given it a new lease of life - pairing it with new oak gate posts, shaped with bishop hat tops from Hartwell & Co! A story with a happy ending ๐
